Aurelia

AURELIA (aw-REE-lee-ah)
Latin, "the golden one."

Aurelia comes from aurum, gold. It was the name of Julius Caesar's mother, and it carries both the metal itself and a sense of luminous, inherited warmth. It was also the old word for the chrysalis, the sealed golden vessel in which a butterfly is transformed before it emerges.

The fragrance is built the same way. Bergamot and cardamom form the outer shell, bright and lightly spiced. Beneath it, orange blossom opens into the core: vanilla, praline, candied almond and tonka, honeyed and dense. Over the dry-down the shell falls away, and what remains is gold in its warmed, liquid state.

The treasure is inside the vessel.
